Attitude Adjustment

What do you think of when you think of attitude? Are your thoughts negative or positive? You see the problem for most of us is we have already given our judgments on something that we are about to do because of something that has happened in the past which forms our attitude.
I went to the symphony on the prairie this past weekend. Half way through it started to rain, but it wasn’t a down pour. I could have left and ran to the car like some people, or just hang out, get a little wet, and enjoy some cool music. I chose to hang out. By the time I would have arrived at the car I would have already been all wet. The rain did stop and I enjoyed the rest of the show.
When it comes to attitude, in sales, it circles around three areas; yourself, your company, and the market condition. If you have a problem with all three or just one you are going to have issues when it comes to making sales. Try looking at everything from a neutral position. By doing this you will be able to see which side of the coin you want to be on. We all have the choice to choose how we handle any situation. Remember we are talking about sales not life or death.
I have been in many sales calls where it felt like it was raining all over me. The choice is mine if I’m going to run to the car or hang out and know the sun will be out again.
