Break the Routine and Take a Risk

March 29th, 2010

Who has ever been in that safe place called your comfort zone? You are doing well but for some reason are not 100% happy yet for some reason you do not strive for more. Maybe you blame an individual o r a situation –what the company is doing is unfair or that person suffocates me. For some reason every excuse comes to mind but the truth is that you are simply caught in your comfort zone. It is easier to stay here than do something about it.

I was here for a good year. I was a top producer for years but for some reason lost the passion in my business. It was easy to think up excuses about my manager or the company and how they were affecting my success but when I did some true self reflection it was no outside source – IT WAS ME! I was caught in my comfort zone. I was comfortable in my environment. I knew the business inside and out. It was all I knew actually which is why I was nervous about making a change. I was afraid of failing. All the what ifs ran through my head – it was paralyzing.

It took a lot of inner strength and talking to a lot of people about my passions and how I was feeling in order to move forward – to break out of that comfort zone and take a risk in my life and in my business. It was a rough experience but it is something that has made me a stronger person. It brings meaning to the phrase things happen for a reason.
