Don’t be Afraid to Fail
August 18th, 2009
Just writing this title sucks. Who wants to fail? Not me that is for sure! However with any new job or role these thoughts go through the mind of even the most driven and successful individual out there. Nobody likes not knowing exactly what to do and how to handle every new situation they are faced with but if you just remember to celebrate the small wins life will be much brighter.
Try setting a goal for the number of dials you make every day or how many no’s you get when cold calling. Make it a priority to try one new thing you learned in class each week instead of getting frustrated that you don’t know the entire system yet. Obviously not every call or appointment is going to go perfectly so if you celebrate the behaviors that you are doing that are helping you learn and get better it will help keep you from getting discouraged as easily when you are feeling like a failure. Remember you don’t learn how to win by getting a Yes, you learn how to win by getting a no.
